  1. John Carpenter Meets Lovecraft This is one of John Carpenter’s more underrated movies (The other being Prince of Darkness). With an excellent cast that includes Sam Neill & Jurgen Pronchow, this is a well scripted, acted, & made film. This also is an EXCELLENT homage to the author H. P. Lovecraft.   2. Nostalgic and still holds up thematically today. I saw this film when I was 9 years old in 1996. Probably way too young..lol My dad was a horror movie buff, so by that time I’d seen my fair share of them by that point. This was one that really stuck with me throughout the years. One of the finer psychological/religious horror films of the time. The sheer insanity of the films progression and subversion of the horror genre of the time kept it uniquely clear in my memory.
