Hotel Mumbai [Blu-ray]

A true story of humanity and heroism, Hotel Mumbai vividly recounts the 2008 siege of the famed Taj Hotel by a group of terrorists in Mumbai, India. Among the dedicated hotel staff is the renowned chef Hemant Oberoi (Anupam Kher) and a waiter (Academy Award nominee Dev Patel, Slumdog Millionaire) who choose to risk their lives to protect their guests.   1. 3.5 stars… Hard to stomach, even harder to forget “Hotel Mumbai” (2018 release from Australia; 125 min.) is a movie about the 2008 terrorist attacks in Mumbai. As the movie opens, we are reminded the film is “Based on True Events” and we are informed it is “November 26, 2008, Mumbia, India”, as we see 10 guys in a Zodiac boat about to arrive in Mumbai.   2. The 1st truly remarkable movie I’ve seen this year There are a few movies that I absolutely love that I don’t see myself watching again. The three that come to mind right away are Schindler’s List, the War Horse and A Dog’s Purpose.
