Christine [Blu-ray]

John Carpenter brings Stephen King’s best-selling novel to life in this chilling thriller. She was born in Detroit … on an automobile assembly line. But she is no ordinary automobile. Deep within her chassis lives an unholy presence. She is CHRISTINE – a red and white 1958 Plymouth Fury whose unique standard equipment includes an evil, indestructible vengeance that will destroy anyone in her way. She seduces 17-year-old Arnie Cunningham (Keith Gordon), who becomes consumed with passion for her sleek, rounded, chrome-laden body. She demands his complete and unquestioned devotion and when outsiders seek to interfere, they become the victims of Christine’s horrifying wrath.

  1. The Car should’ve won the Oscar for Best Actress There are some working actors who can’t emote as well as Christine. You can tell when she’s happy, jealous, teasing, predatory, and just downright pissed off. It’s a joy to watch how the car’s personality comes through — and to watch her murder anyone between her and her man.Did this movie have to be 2 hours? No. Was the cast particularly good? Not really (Arnie’s friend and girlfriend are frankly duds, in comparison to their charismatic automobile costar). But was it a fun horror…

  2. Classic. John Carpenter did it again on this classic horror film about a demonic car from hell who seems to have a habit of running people over! The main character seems to be possessed and obsessed by this car that it/she ultimates controls him. Blue ray has a good transfer quality for the age of the film and a bit of an upgrade over it’s dvd version, details are sharper and more clean except a few scenes that still have the dvd look to it but very minor. Overall great Blue ray and movie and highly…
